You’ve heard it said that people are basically good but, in the church world it’s said that people are basically bad, so which one is it? God made mankind in his image and he called it very good. We were made to live in the image of God, capable of reflecting His heart, His goodness, His joy into the world. But, then something happened and by the free choice of humans we choose to put ourselves at the center of the story and not Him. Our lives are self-centered and self-absorbed; the truth is: We are broken. What if the church became a people who boasted about our weakness and simply came together to be loved? What if instead of pointing fingers and trying to convince ourselves that we are perfect, we got together and pursued Jesus and became a safe place for all.
